CUSTOMER SERVICE was spectacular!!!!!!!!! Yep I said it and the facility was well maintained. The medical assistant checking me was very courteous!!! Then to top it off—-Dr. Martha Cohen was extremely professional and very personable!!! Her smile is very welcoming! Thank you LowCountry Women’s Specialist for making my first medical experience in South Carolina memorable!

Docs are ok, but the clinic runs in an unprofessional manner. I had 5 appointments so far with them. 1 they called off less than 24 hours in advance, and 1 they just told me they needed to reschedule, after checking in and hanging out in the waiting area for 20 minutes because the doctor left. They want to charge patients $75 for canceling less than 24 hours in advance but I get nothing if they cancel on me less then 24 hours. I just waste my time and gas money. It makes me feel undervalued as a patient, just a number and $ for the clinic.

First impression at the front desk was wonderful, but it all went downhill from there. I waited almost an hour to be called back. The medical assistant didn’t say a word to me when I walked over to her and said nothing until she barked orders at me. She sent me into the room with no instructions. She asked about medication allergies, current medications, and two specific questions about my parents; nothing else about my history. Then the Dr. came in and was like “I’m not sure we’ve met before, so just in case, I’m Dr. Hunter.” You’d be correct, this is a new patient appointment. We most certainly have not met before… She asked questions, but didn’t seem to care about the answers. I finally brought up two parts of my medical history on my own. We had a long discussion about one of them. But when I got my visit summary, the second one was reported and not the one we discussed at length. My weight was reported incorrectly. My blood pressure did not match what the MA told me. And my marital status was incorrect (probably because no one asked me). How do you expect to provide quality care if you know nothing about me? Even worse, if you can’t report what you do know/learn accurately?

I initially really liked Dr Heinemann, but after my most recent visit she told me I needed to have major surgery (abdominal myomectomy) to remove 1, small (4cm) fibroid and didn’t really go into explaining why. Later on I asked why I couldn’t have it removed with a less invasive surgery through the portal and was very briefly told over the phone it was bc of the size of the fibroid, which didn’t sit well with me and felt like a lie/cheap answer, so I sought out a 2nd opinion. Well I’m glad I did because my new dr was so much kinder about it all, she explained everything to me (where it was, what kind it’s called, etc) that I didn’t get from dr Heinemann, AND she is going to do my surgery for me laparoscopically, rather than just cutting me up and basically forcing me to have a C-section down the road. I never really liked the rest of the staff at LWS either. They were almost always rude to talk to on the phone.

I love my Dr. However who ever is running the place needs help. They were obviously overbooked. Cars were circling the parking lot no spaces at all to park. Once I got inside and checked in 10 min early I'm still waiting over an hour later. And the staff could care less they have already collected my co pay which if this is the wait should be collected last do to I probably would have walked out. Ridiculous

You never know how long you will have to wait for your scheduled appointment. Emergency’s happen. I get that. But 7 times there was an issue with the scheduling and I spent 3+ hours there. It got to the point where I made sure my schedule was clear that day because you never knew how long it would take. Also, I complained about a pain for months. I was told repeatedly it was scar tissue from a previous C-section. Well I just had a procedure done completely unrelated to this pain and by a different office and they found a 9cm hernia. Once I was awake and my doctor told me about it I explained to him the pain I had been having and he believes that every time I felt that pain it was that hernia opening further. So I’m a bit peeved that low country women’s specialist dismissed my pain and concerns for months.

I can't say enough about Dr. Accetta. He is patient, kind and has the best bed side manor that is rare in doctors these days. I've been seeing him since 1993 and now 2 of my daughters and several family members and friends see him also. He has delivered 8 children in our family all with care and professionalism. I love that I can say whatever I want to him and he laughs. He truly listens to my needs and delivers expert and precise care. Our entire family just loves him!
